Elizabeth Ross Johnson Theater: The New Brunswick Performing Arts Center includes the Main Stage which is a 463 seat Proscenium Theater designed to accommodate musical theater, dance, opera, and dramatic theater. State-of-the-art theatrical systems were developed to support these various performance types and serve anticipated needs, as well as allow for future expansion and evolving technology. The theater includes an 86 ft. stage, a 75 ft. flyer tower, and a trap system, as well as an orchestra pit (accommodating up to 70 musicians) and associated acoustical considerations and mechanical system to allow for all ranges of production.

Arthur Laurents Theater: The Arthur Laurents Theater is also designed as a Proscenium Theater primarily for theatrical and smaller dance performances. It includes a 60 ft. stage with a state-of-the-art grid system for lighting and sound. It accommodates 252 patrons, in the orchestra (219), and balcony (33). It is anticipated that this theater will be home to a variety of performing types including dramatic theater and dance with styles ranging from traditional to experimental. The theater also provides additional flexibility to the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center to accommodate lecture, community, and musical events.

Bar: Animating the 5,400 square foot front lobby, The Bar is one of the most visible spaces inside the NBPAC. Serving upscale theater concessions and signature cocktails before and after the events, this space brings refreshments to over 700 patrons on a nightly basis. Its warm lights glowing from within, The Bar becomes a welcoming beacon across Monument Square Park and a comfortable accompaniment to the best theater in the region.

Lobby: At the NBPAC, the show really does start on the sidewalk. In fact, guests are greeted by a musical staff with an exceprt from "Let me Entertain You", complimented by a high resolution video image wall that draws young and old alike into New Brunswick’s most significant civic space. Crossing under the large video display and past the richly appointed Bar, patrons emerge into a scintillating double height space where a sculptural stair draws eyes upward to fill everyone with a sense of expectation as to what happens next. Appointed with refined materials and elegant proportions, the Lobby is one of the most memorable spaces in the NBPAC.

Rehearsal Spaces: The main building includes three rehearsal spaces that replicate the stage spaces of the Elizabeth Ross Johnson Theater and the Arthur Laurents Theater. One of the three rehearsal rooms, that is the size of the Laurents stage, will double as the donor lounge during performances. It will provide rehearsal options that will maximize the use of the theater venues by permitting maximized rehearsal times off the main and second stages. The rehearsal studios were designed to support dance, drama, musical rehearsals, general classes, workshops, or small public performances. The studios were designed for maximum flexibility with infrastructure allowing scenery, lighting, and audio as needed.
